HAMBURG is a well-known tune for this beloven text, and this arrangement will add harmonic interest to its usual staid hymnal setting. The piano gives a short 2-bar introduction, and then the voices and instruments enter on the first stanza. The second stanza uses less instrumentation and barer piano, and the third stanza is sung a capella. Piano and instruments re-enter on the final downbeat of the third stanza, climax through a beautiful key change, and voices soar on "Were the whole realm of nature mine..."
