This arrangement of ST. ANNE by Isaac Watts and William Croft opens with a subtle, yet strong repeated chord pattern in the piano, and will continue with solo piano accompaniment through the first stanza. The instruments then join on the second and third stanzas, and for the fourth stanza, the piano will transpose up for a half step modulation.
For the fifth and final stanza, the piano and instruments modulate together building with strong tension, and a beautiful resolution into the key of B-flat.
The arrangement offers 5 stanzas, with repeats taken only once for second and third stanzas. The final ending "and our eternal home" extends an extra measure for piano and instruments to come to a resolute completion.
