FINLANDIA is a beloved, well-known hymn, and this arrangement is written in a duple meter to encourage an easier flow for the congregation to sing. The piano opens with a 4-bar introspective line in the RH that reappears in the transition and final ending. There are 3 stanzas offered, and each stanza is written into the score. Instruments have several places for rests, with treble clef and bass clef instruments featured on their own. Mens' and ladies’ voices are suggested as a vocal split in the second stanza for variety and word painting. A key change is offered in the pianist's score before the final stanza, and instruments soar on the final text, "the hour is hastening on, when we shall be forever with the Lord..."
