“And Can it Be” is a well-known hymn with a staid melody to support its dynamic and theologically-rich text. This arrangement is carried by open chords introduced in piano, instruments joining in the third measure, and continuing on with a chordal instrumental coverlet. Repeats are noted in each instrumental part.
Playing options: strings and winds play in octaves as written; flutes one octave above, tuba one octave below.
Stanzas: number of repeats can be taken with as many stanzas as desired.
